The 2024 AGM was held at Southlawn at 7:30pm on Tues 6th August.
Howard, Anna, Liz, James, Felicity, Sanchia, Mary and Helen were there.
The usual format of an AGM was followed - the minutes of the last meeting were agreed, the financial report was discussed, and Ros' Annual
Report on activities was read out in her absense and discussed.
The existing officers agreed to remain in post, so were re-elected. The main resolution was to consider villagers' ideas about
what we should do, and to work with other local organisations with similar aims.
There was a lively discussion throughout the meeting - the main points covered were as follows:
- The churchyard The flora of the churchyard was surveyed in July by four ladies from the
the Coralian Ridge Survey and we now have a species list. 17th August has been set as the mowing date,
and volunteers are needed for raking.
- The bug hotel by the school needs finishing
- Approx. 30m of hedging is available for planting. The existing planting needs weeding. Weeding and planting parties
need to be organised for November.
- A harvest supper will be held in the barn on 4th October, followed by apple pressing then a talk
in the evening of Monday 7th October.
- The village hall committee are trying to make the hall "greener" and are talking to Felicity
and Richard about this.
- Repair Cafe Our first attempt at a repair cafe will be held on 2nd November in the village
hall. Various people have been proposed or volunteered as repairers, and these need firming up. Ideas for
other stalls were discussed.
The next meeting will be on September 10th, to work out details of the repair cafe.
