Churchyard restoration

We are restoring part of the churchyard of St Laurence Church to a wildflower meadow habitat. This project has been running since 2017.

Timelapse project

Photo stations have been set up in Besselsleigh Woods and the churchyard. People are encouraged to take photos and upload them, to make a timelapse - a record of change over time.

iNaturalist

Photographing and identifying wildlife in Appleton parish and recording results in the iNaturalist system. This provides information about the biodiversity of our area, and increases our involvement with nature.

Repair Cafe

We held our first cafe in November, and were very pleased with how it went.
Further cafes are planned.

Big Spring Events

An event in spring has become a regular thing. It included stalls with information about nature, a book stall, and "Too Good to Chuck", a stall to swap unwanted goods.
We held one in April 2024, and plan another for May 2025.

Camera Trap

We set up a camera trap in several places and recorded a wide range of wildlife.
This is part of our National Lottery funded project.
