Green Appleton Repair Cafe
We held our fifth Repair Cafe on Oct 25th, in the village hall as usual. The first half hour was very quiet and we really wondered if anyone was going to turn
up at all, but then people came, bringing all sorts of things for repair. Some were so enthused by what we could do that they went back home and brought
some more broken items.
This time we included a "Bring and Share" table, for people to swap their unwanted items. This was in part inspired by the glut of fruit that the hot summer has produced. Quite a few people brought items, including fruit and jam, but not that much was taken away, so maybe the Repair Cafe isn't the best forum for this sort of thing.

Photo Competition
We are also starting off our Autumn and Winter Photo Competition. See below for details.
Activity in the Repair Cafes
The graphic below gives an idea of what went on in the Repair Cafes, and what impact they had on landfill. We hope that our impact goes beyond these figures by promoting the idea of reusing and sharing resources, and that conversations over coffee and cake spread these ideas.
The first set of figures show what was achieved in the October cafe, and the second combines the stats for all five held so far.
