The Salmon household have been proud hosts of an emerging family of blue tits this spring, with a webcam fitted inside a nest box. Viewers of the snippets published on the Appleton Community Facebook page have been able to follow the mother as she prepared a nest and laid the clutch of eggs. The eggs have since hatched and the chicks, fed by very busy parents, are growing and developing fast.
How many chicks can you see in the nest? We think there are six or seven - a lot of permanently open mouths to feed!
And as the days and weeks pass the chicks look less downy and recognisable feathers appear. Not long till they fledge and have to cope with the outside world.
